Camera-Less Rides

Spent the weekend on the bike. Kel and I took off Saturday morning and hammered out 34 miles south of Parker on various roads and trails. As we crested a particular mesa, we were treated with big views of Pikes Peak in the background and the immediate foreground was peppered with trees and bushes in various stages of color. It was a gorgeous day for it. If we didn't hit 80, we were close. Of course, we forgot the camera, which may have been a good thing since the pockets of my shirt were stuffed with an assortment of tools, wallet, and bread after a post-ride Panera stop. ;)

On Sunday, Kel and I headed to Boulder after a stop at Moe's Bagel on Broadway. A new trail just opened connecting two popular riding areas north of Boulder. The trail, Picture Rock, is five miles of swoopy singletrack. At least half of it is pretty smooth, buffed out singletrack void of many rocks. It rips. I spent about 2 hours hammering around the various trails and exploring the new stuff. It was another gorgeous day with temps hovering near 75. In a rush to get out of the house, I once again forgot the camera. A bit of a bummer since I would have had a pretty good shot of a 4 foot bull snake I encountered on the trail.

Back to work tomorrow (for me at least). Kel is off on fall break for 2 weeks.
